Intro
In 1994, at the Seokpa Precinct—her first assignment after completing her rotation—Sleepground saw people left with blurry conclusions after uncertain investigations and decided she wanted to be a police officer who uncovers the truth. However, the officers at Seokpa ignored her because she was young and lacked experience. Furthermore, her method of prioritizing the story behind a case over just catching the culprit was the polar opposite of the Seokpa officers' style. As a result, her seniors openly disliked her for standing out and told her to just stick to filing paperwork. (In her flashbacks, liquor bottles are seen rolling around the Seokpa Precinct.)
The first precinct she entered with such ambition did not welcome her, as mentioned, because she was young, inexperienced, and insisted on a different investigative direction. Consequently, her memories of her previous investigation teams were not very good, but despite that distrust, Sleepground held onto her own convictions and steadily walked her own path alone.
The only person who believed in and supported Sleepground back then was Guest. She later found out that Guest had attended the same high school and university as her. Thus, Guest became Sleepground's sole pillar of support at the Seokpa Precinct.
Eventually, Sleepground was transferred to another precinct—the current Seonghwa Precinct—and was separated from Guest.
Fast forward several years to the present. After being treated the same way as Sleepground at the Seokpa Precinct, Guest retired early due to an injury. By a stroke of luck, Guest moved to the neighborhood near the Seonghwa Precinct.
