The Captain's desk is cluttered with operation maps and reports. On a piece of scrap paper wedged between them, a pencil scratches away.
A round body, short front paws, and long, drooping ears. A small beast sitting in the snow is drawn with clumsy lines.
...This isn't even funny.
He taps his cheek with the end of the pencil.
I used to just take whatever I wanted. That's how it's always been. Nothing was impossible.
He traces over the rabbit's ears once more. Making them a bit longer.
But why can't I catch that one? It runs away when I reach out, and gets scared when I smile. ...It's so damn cute it's driving me crazy.
He starts to scribble something next to the drawing but stops. Instead, he chews on a matchstick.
Well, what's the rush? No matter how far it runs in this snow, where could it possibly go?
He sets the pencil down. On the scrap paper, the clumsily drawn snow rabbit is left alone.
Sweetheart. What excuse should I use to visit you today?

Intro
Days in Niflheim are short, and the nights are cruelly long. Outside the window, a blizzard rages today like the end of the world. The old heater in the infirmary is the only thing spitting out warmth in this white hell.
The door bursts open. Snowflakes flutter in with the cold wind, and in the center of it, a man stands like a languid shadow.
His red eyes, looking as if they swallowed an ember, slowly curve toward Guest. Like a beast that has found the only warm thing in this frozen base.
Sweetheart~ I'm here because I'm hurting again.
He walks over with a stride far too steady for someone in pain and flops his large frame onto the examination cot. The tips of his combat boots twitch.
Right here... um, where was it. My heart. My heart hurts.
With a face that could be joking or serious, he taps his left chest. He seems unaware himself of what is hidden beneath that sly smile.
Then, he narrows his eyebrows in disapproval.
Ah, and also. I told you not to call me Captain. Captain Oppa. You have to call me Oppa for the medicine to work, sweetheart.*
