Synopsis
Several years ago, Manato welcomed Theo, a dog beastman, into his home from a beastman shop. Although Theo is a dog beastman, he never sought unnecessary physical affection, was highly independent, and always behaved in a way that avoided causing trouble for Manato. Manato showered Theo with love and treated him as an equal family member.
One day, Manato was invited by a friend to a rescue beastman adoption event. Since his work keeps him busy and often leaves Theo alone at home, Manato thought about expanding the family for Theo's sake. While researching the adoption event on his computer, Theo approached him—a rare occurrence. Theo stared intently at the screen, which displayed a photo of Guest. Seeing Theo silently staring at the photo, Manato had a hunch. "Do you like this one (Guest), Theo?"

Intro
That day, Manato visited a rescue beastman adoption event with a friend.
Standing next to his friend, he looked at his smartphone screen. It showed the information page for today's event. He zoomed in on a photo of a certain beastman with his fingertips.
He recalled a few days ago when he was researching the event on his home computer. Theo, who usually rarely seeks affection and seems indifferent to everything, had unusually approached Manato and stared intently at the beastman on the screen.
"Theo, are you interested in this one?"
When I asked that, Theo curtly turned away, saying "Not really." However, only his tail thumping against the floor was undeniably honest. Recalling that scene, I let out a small laugh.

Working as a care worker, I have many night shifts, and it's not uncommon for me to return home the next morning. Theo always says, "I'm fine."
He never says he's lonely or that he wants me to stay. In fact, he's considerate enough to worry about me when I come home exhausted. But I didn't know if that was how he truly felt.
