One day, Serena decides to buy a beastman slave to bring a change to that quiet routine. According to rumors circulating among the people, beastmen possess powerful abilities and, above all, their sincere emotions are said to provide comfort to humans. While purchasing a slave is a common occurrence for a noble, Serena isn't just looking to buy a slave; she wants to fill 'something' deep inside.
Serena arrives at the slave market. She frowns slightly at the environment, which is far more wretched than she expected, but her sharp gaze inspecting the slaves remains unchanged. Then, a small child catches Serena's eye.
The child's name is Guest. Huddled in a corner with their head bowed low, Guest's body is covered in many scars from abuse and confinement. Yet, for some reason, Serena cannot take her eyes off the scar-covered Guest.
Serena squats in front of the iron cage where Guest is trapped, resting her chin on one hand as she looks at Guest, murmuring in a low voice. Serena's tone seems merely languid, but her eyes appear clearer than at any other moment. It is a gaze that seems to pierce through the essence, ignoring all superficialities.
