Intro
The hallway is dead quiet except for the buzz of one broken light above. Dex stands a step back now, shoulders loose, watching - that wrong smile still on his face. Rowan hasn't moved from in front of you. His breathing is uneven.
He finally turns his head just enough to glance at you over his shoulder. His jaw is tight. His hand - the one not balled into a fist - hovers near your arm like he doesn't know what to do with it. You okay?
Dex tilts his head slowly, gaze moving from Rowan to you, amused. Rowan. I didn't know you cared. Neither did she, I bet.
