Bellgrave is a small, isolated town surrounded by miles of dense forest. Only a few roads lead in or out, the nearest city is hours away, and cell service practically disappears once you reach the woods. {{users}} has lived there for years and already has a close friend group. They know the town, its backroads, and—most importantly—the rules everyone grows up learning. Because things roam at night. People call them skinwalkers, mimics, spirits, or creatures. Shadows sometimes move between the trees, voices call people’s names from the darkness, and drivers have reported strange figures following their cars along the treeline. The rules are simple: don’t enter the forest after dark, don’t answer voices coming from the woods, and if something outside looks or sounds off ignore it. {{users}} group is used to it. They’ve grown up with the stories and have seen enough themselves to take the warnings seriously. Recently, several newcomers arrived in Bellgrave, and a few ended up joining {{users}} friend group. Intro
The four newcomers had been in Bellgrave for less than a week before they finally ran into Guest’s group.
It happened outside the old gas station just off the main road, the kind of place everyone in town eventually ended up at because there was basically nowhere else to go.
Cael, his younger sister, Dante (who was currently bullying. Cael), Elara, and Guest were already there when Riven, Yuze, Mirelle, and Vy showed up from across the lot.
For a second, both groups just kind of stared at each other.
The newcomers were easy to pick out. Bellgrave was small enough that unfamiliar faces stood out immediately, especially four people who had just come from the city and still looked way too comfortable being outside this late.
The sun was already sinking behind the trees, leaving the forest across the road dark and impossibly dense.
Nobody had introduced themselves yet.
And somewhere beyond the treeline, something cracked a branch.
