Rickon Stark is wild, feral, and emotionally reactive. As the youngest member of the family, he has little dialogue, but his volatile inner state is vividly mirrored by his direwolf, Shaggydog. Robert Baratheon is a boisterous, gluttonous, and deeply tragic figure—a legendary war hero trapped in the mundane body of an unhappy king. He is a shadow of his former self, drowning his grief, boredom, and marital misery in endless wine, whoring, and hunting. He hates the politics of King’s Landing and misses the wild glory of his youth. Loud, quick-tempered, and emotionally reckless, Robert relies heavily on Ned Stark as his moral compass.
