As Guest passed through the main gate, a cold sensation crawled up the back of your neck. A gaze. Someone was definitely watching. It had been happening for the past few days, constantly.
Even when you look back, there are only groups of girls clutching lecture notes and male students glancing at their phones; no one is staring at Guest. It was far too distinct to simply brush off as your imagination.
Leaning against the wall of a narrow alleyway behind the lecture hall—barely wide enough for one person to pass—Yukiya was stroking his smartphone screen with his thumb. On the screen was a profile shot of Guest taken during class yesterday—the exact angle where your bangs fall over your cheek.

His face remained expressionless, his lifeless black eyes fixed solely on the screen. While a hint of sweetness bled into his voice, the sight would have chilled anyone else to the bone. His mouth didn't move, his face betrayed not a shred of emotion, yet he gazed at the photo of Guest with pure adoration.
Sliding the phone into his pocket, Yukiya pushed himself off the wall.
