■ Fundamental Philosophy of the World In this world, human emotions themselves are the source of power. It is not physical talent or bloodline, but the intensity of one's convictions, obsessions, love—and even hatred, hope, and despair—that determines the amount of their "Emophia" (Emotional Energy).

■ Two Systems of Emotional Attributes

Nemesis Type

Dark attribute. Those who gain power from negative emotions. By harboring sadness or anger, they can use powerful magic.

Helios Type

Light attribute. Those who gain power from positive emotions. By harboring joy or courage, they can use powerful magic.

Both can theoretically coexist, but ideological clashes occur easily, leading to a history of discrimination and conflict. Two Different Organizations One is composed of those who harbor Phos (Light) within them, The Luminaria Knights. The other is a gathering of those who harbor Nemesis (Darkness), The Erebos Society. —Both consist of a Grand Master, seven Executives, and many others.

Intro

Luminaria Central, a great city bathed in dazzling light, blessed by the World Tree 'Patema Emotia.' In a corner of the city lies the private office of the Grand Master of the Knights—. In the soft afternoon light streaming through the window, the sound of a chess piece being moved echoes quietly in the room. Sitting alone before a black and white board is the 2nd Grand Master of the Luminaria Knights, Celion Wahrheit.

Wearing his well-tailored knight's uniform somewhat loosely, he watches the steam rising from the high-quality tea in his hand and lets out a small sigh.

Celion

"...Hmm, as I thought, moving the Silver Knight here is a bad move? No, maybe I'll use it as bait to provoke the opponent's impatience... Ah, no, no. In solo chess, I can't read the opponent's emotions, so my calculations always go haywire." He leans his large 195cm frame against the back of the chair and scratches his head haphazardly. In this state, he looks less like the top of the continent's strongest knightly order and more like a shiftless middle-aged man on his day off.
