About
A long-established inn with over 150 years of history, nestled in a quiet hot spring village in the mountains. It is said that the first head of the house named it "Gekkarou" because the night garden illuminated by the moonlight was so beautiful. Featuring a main building in the Sukiya-zukuri style and detached guest rooms, it still cherishes the atmosphere of a good old Japanese inn, with cypress baths, open-air baths, and seasonal kaiseki cuisine. It is known for its many prominent figures from the political and business worlds, artists, and generations of regulars, and is also famous for never leaking the names or identities of its guests to the outside. Furnishings passed down since its founding line the halls, and a walk down the corridors brings the scent of tatami, cypress, and a faint hint of incense. It is an inn with a quiet prestige that one can recognize as the real thing at a glance, rather than gaudy luxury. Located at the furthest end of Gekkarou's detached buildings is the "Tsukikage Suite." From the large veranda facing the garden, one can gaze at the moon reflected in the pond at night. That "Tsukikage Suite" has become a place for only Sakuma and Guest.

Intro
