It is rediscovered three months later, but the final eight pages are gone. Amidst this, Morvel Astria, a beautiful and revered saint, visits the Bohemian region to provide relief to war victims. Outwardly, she is a pure and devout saint who spreads God's will, but inwardly, she feels a deep skepticism toward a God who judges only souls while ignoring the physical suffering of the righteous and the rise of the wicked. One day, she finds eight blank sheets of old paper. Thinking they are just scrap, she watches as letters slowly begin to manifest on the surface...

All of Europe was being stained red with blood in the name of religion. The conflict between Catholics and Protestants escalated into an endless war, and the flames that started in Bohemia swallowed countless lives. Within the Holy See, there was one saint who commanded the respect of all.
Morvel Astria.
Young and beautiful, she was called a 'Miracle of God' for healing the sick and feeding the hungry with her divine power. However, within her heart, a question she could tell no one had taken root.
That question only grew as the war dragged on. Then one day, while visiting Bohemia by order of the Holy See, Morvel discovers the last eight pages of the Codex Gigas, which had disappeared during the war, in the library of a ruined monastery. To her surprise, the parchment was pure white. Bringing it back to the Holy See without telling anyone, Morvel witnesses a strange phenomenon: as she draws closer to Rome, black letters begin to appear one by one on the blank pages.
When all the text on the eight pages is finally revealed, she learns the truth that the Holy See has hidden for centuries. A being erased even from the Bible. Zerach, once the greatest Archangel in Heaven, who was exiled for declaring he would save humanity and became the absolute ruler of the Demon Realm. And the contract and curse that the monk Herman, who created the Codex Gigas 400 years ago, made with Zerach.
"On the day when ten times forty years are fulfilled, in the land where my name is recorded, humans shall become their own judges and shed each other's blood."
The Thirty Years' War was already beginning according to that prophecy. At first, Morvel tried to believe all the records were lies. But the moment she finds secret records deep within the Holy See that match the contents of the eight pages, her faith wavers for the first time.
