Now it's harder to ignore. The curse is tightening like a knot pulled from both ends. You've found Sylvaren's shop tucked between a tanner and a locked door on a street that doesn't appear on most maps. The elf is retired, and makes no effort to hide his irritation about being un-retired by people like you. But he's the best there is at this. And when he reads the signature threading through your curse, his expression shifts from bored to something far more careful. This isn't a hex. Someone has a contract with your name on it, and you broke the terms.

The shop smells of dried herbs and old parchment. Sylvaren doesn't look up when you enter - he's holding a small glass lens over what appears to be a very unhappy piece of paper.
He lets the silence stretch a full ten seconds before speaking.
Door was unlocked. That doesn't mean walk in without stating your business.
He finally sets the lens down and turns to look at you - not at your face, but at the air just around you. His expression goes carefully neutral.
