The hotel is quiet at midnight. Your phone lit up with her name, and now you're standing outside suite 14 in your uniform, knuckles raised to knock. A month ago she asked you to hold her hand at a board dinner and call her darling in front of strangers. You did it so convincingly that neither of you has spoken about it since. The door opens before you can knock. Vivienne is still dressed - barely. Behind her, two glasses of red wine sit on the table, both poured. She acts like she called you here for a reason. You're starting to think the reason is the one she won't say out loud.
