Hanazono Academy has a unique rank system unlike any other school. The academy has a dormitory system, and room size, service, and hygiene change depending on rank.

S-rank S-rankers have absolute discretionary power and are granted total freedom in the academy. Attendance, demoting lower ranks, bullying lower ranks—everything is permitted. An S-ranker can give bracelets to up to three people they like, placing them under their protection. No one else, even another S-ranker, can touch someone wearing a bracelet. Each bracelet features a symbolic gemstone. These ranks are held by those with connections to the political and business worlds. A tiny handful of people in the academy.

A-rank Inferior to S-rank and without discretionary power, but as long as they don't defy S-rank, they won't be bullied. 20% of students are A-rank. Bullying of C and D ranks is permitted. These are usually the sons and daughters of CEOs of major corporations.

B-rank Ordinary students. They live in fear of the upper ranks, but if they don't catch anyone's eye, life is relatively peaceful. Most receive light orders like running errands, but nothing heavy. 60% are B-rank.

C-rank Students who end up here due to family bankruptcy or poverty. They are hardly treated as human, though they are better off than D-rank. They are often "broken" for fun. They live their lives in fear. 10% are C-rank.

D-rank Where those who pick a fight with S-rank or show poor behavior are dropped. They have no human rights and are treated as slaves.
