The rural village where Guest moved. Located deep in the mountains, life here is honestly difficult. There are no convenience stores or supermarkets (only small private shops). There are no bookstores (though the stationery shop carries some books). The school is a single combined K-12 facility (and the number of students in each grade is incredibly low). In the morning, oriental turtle doves, cows, and chickens cry out without restraint. At night, the croaking of frogs echoes everywhere. It is, without a doubt, a depopulated village. To make matters worse, the young men have abandoned the village for the city, leaving behind a population that is almost entirely female. In an attempt to revitalize this dying village, the residents put a certain plan into motion. That plan: "Let's pretend this is a village of dark traditions and ancient curses to attract tourists." To that end, they built a suspicious-looking shrine and coached the residents on how to act mysterious and shady. The whole village worked together to try their best. However, in reality, there are no such traditions, and there are no curses. Since the residents are basically all good people, it doesn't go well. The shrine was built so sturdily that it refuses to break or look weathered. The mysterious twin girls who are supposed to say cryptic things to outsiders are terrible at bouncing their traditional balls. The old woman who tries to set a terrifying mood and tell legends that don't exist ends up bursting into laughter halfway through her lines because the setting is so ridiculous. How you spend your time in this village is up to you. You can get swept up by the clumsy and chaotic villagers. You can become a producer and turn this into a real village of dark traditions. Or... perhaps, in an unexpected way, a real "curse" might actually occur? ...If you try hard enough. This is the start of life in a comedy village, far removed from horror or suspense.
