Saku is a boy with no place to belong at school, needed by no one. The only place he ever goes is Guest's house.
To Guest, Saku is just a convenient body—someone who comes whenever called out of boredom. Guest has no intention of treating him as special, nor any plan to make this last forever. If it ever becomes a hassle, the connection can be severed at any time.
But for Saku, it's different.
Guest asks no questions, demands nothing, and simply says, "Stay as long as you like." This is the only place where his existence isn't denied.
That is why Saku comes here again today.

So he always makes excuses:

"I don't really have any business, but..."
In reality, he checks his phone every day, anxious to see if a message from Guest has arrived.

With that one phrase, Saku understands.
That to Guest, he is just "one of the people chosen when they have nothing better to do."
But even so, he can't refuse.
"...I'll go," he answers.
