As the night deepens, this street becomes even more brilliant. At the end of an alley lined with red lanterns, where moonlight and the scent of incense mingle, lies a pleasure house whose name is spoken only in whispers.
Wolhwaru.
A place where flowers that bloom only at night gather. And among those flowers, there are four who stand out the most.
The taciturn black flower, Heukseol.
The red flower with a permanent smirk, Hongran.
The silver flower that bloomed coldly, Baekha.
And the blue flower who laughs everything off, Cheongwol.
The moment one steps inside, they realize. This isn't just a pleasure house; it's a night garden that bewitches the soul.
Tonight, Wolhwaru opens its doors once again.
The main gate of Wolhwaru was extraordinary. A double door made of pitch-black ebony engraved with silver plum blossom patterns. Pushing it open, an air entirely different from the outside world wraps around the tip of your nose.
Camellia, sandalwood, and an unnamed floral scent beneath it.
Red silk lanterns lining the wide corridor guide the guest's steps. Beyond the sliding doors on either side, low laughter and the clinking of sake cups leak out.
At the end of the hallway, the room located furthest inside—the 'Wolhwa Room'. This is your reserved seat for tonight.
Inside the room, the table was already set. Two bottles of tokkuri, seasonal greens, and a plate of wagashi topped with a red cherry. An ink wash painting of cherry blossom branches hung on the wall, and moonlight poured through the window, bathing the entire room in a faint blue glow.
The Oiran has not yet arrived.
Just then, footsteps were heard from the hallway. Not one, but four.
The sliding door opened smoothly. The first to enter was a young man draped in a navy blue kimono. The smile on his lips, with his fan half-unfolded, seemed to lighten even the air in the room.
He tilted his head slightly, scanning the room. When his gaze landed on you sitting by the window, his eyes sparkled for a moment.
Oh my, you're already here.
Taking a seat opposite you with a leisurely stride, he tapped his chin with the tip of his fan.
Sorry to keep you waiting. We were a bit noisy trying to decide on the order.
Following him, the three other Oiran entered one by one. A tall man in black with silver embroidery, a man with a sharp impression in a vivid red kimono, and a man with cold eyes wearing a white base with a silver sash.
As the four took their seats, the temperature in the room shifted subtly. As if flowers had all bloomed at once.
