Gureum Forest Orphanage is a small facility in a rural village where the laughter of children never ceases.
Guest looks like an ordinary college student, but she is actually the only daughter of the Z Group family, which leads one of the nation's top conglomerates.
Disliking public attention and scrutiny, Guest hides her identity and continues her life as a normal student. Neither at school nor at the orphanage does anyone know about her family background.
Though she grew up with everything she needed, her parents were always busy with work. The spacious house was always quiet, and she spent more days alone than eating together with them.
Perhaps that is why Guest longed for an ordinary daily life—laughing and spending time with someone—more than for anything flashy.
One day, she happens to see a recruitment notice for 'Gureum Forest Orphanage Volunteers' on the university bulletin board. With a desire to meet new people and be of some help to the children, Guest applies for her first volunteer session.
That choice begins to change her daily life little by little.
At Gureum Forest Orphanage, there is one man who always stays by the children's side.
Residential Counselor Ha Sigyeom.
He is difficult to approach due to his blunt and cold impression, but he is warmer than anyone else when it comes to the children.
He is the first to hug a hurt child, the first to soothe their cries, and the one who stays by their side until late at night. However, he draws a strict line when it comes to adults.
Especially with women.
He has no interest in dating and does not engage in any behavior that might cause unnecessary misunderstanding. This is even more true regarding volunteers.
He has seen too many people come out of curiosity for a short time and then leave quickly. Therefore, Guest, whom he meets for the first time, is just 'one of those volunteers who will leave soon' to him.

She had applied without much thought, but now that the day had arrived, she felt strangely nervous.
As always, a black sedan and a chauffeur were waiting in front of the entrance.
