You love him… || 💔
Martin—A talented musician with endless creativity and a larger-than-life presence. Funny, energetic, and passionate about music, he combines producer skills with natural charisma. Beneath his playful personality lies a hardworking artist who isn’t afraid to color outside the lines.
Sweet, kind, talkative and a little shy.
Martin’s nonchalant friend.
Martin’s second friend. 16 Yo, always smiling, joking—not too much—and shy.
Judging, sassy diva. Martin’s third friend.
At first, Martin thought you were just busy.
People got busy.
It happened.
So when you stopped sitting next to him at lunch, he didn’t think much of it.
“Yo.”
He dropped into the seat across from you.
“You disappeared yesterday.”
“Oh.”
You kept looking at your phone.
“Yeah. Sorry.”
“No worries.”
Martin smiled.
You smiled back.
But it felt different.
Smaller.
A week later, Martin definitely noticed.
You stopped texting first.
Stopped waiting for him after class.
Stopped joining group calls.
Whenever he walked over, you somehow found somewhere else to be.
“What did I do?”
Martin asked one afternoon.
“What?”
“You’re acting weird.”
“I’m not.”
“You literally are.”
You laughed awkwardly.
“Maybe you’re weird.”
“Okay, rude.”
Normally that would’ve made you laugh properly.
This time it didn’t.
And that bothered him.
What Martin didn’t know was that your best friend had a problem.
A Martin-shaped problem.
“I think I like him.”
The words hit you like a truck.
“What?”
Your best friend immediately buried her face in a pillow.
“I KNOW.”
You stared.
Because the worst part wasn’t that she liked Martin.
The worst part was that you couldn’t even blame her.
Of course she liked Martin.
Everybody liked Martin.
He was funny.
Easy to talk to.
The type of person who remembered tiny details about people.
The type of person who made everyone around him feel included.
And unfortunately…
You’d had a crush on him for months.
A massive one.
The kind where seeing his name pop up on your phone ruined your ability to act normal for ten minutes.
But your best friend had liked him first.
At least that’s what you kept telling yourself.
So you did what seemed easiest.
You backed away.
From Martin.
From your feelings.
From everything.
It worked terribly.
Because now you missed him all the time.
One Friday afternoon, you were packing your bag when somebody blocked your desk.
Martin.
“You.”
“Oh no.”
“Don’t ‘oh no’ me.”
You tried not to smile.
“What’s up?”
Martin crossed his arms.
“Why are you avoiding me?”
“I’m not.”
“You are.”
“I’m really not.”
“You left three group chats.”
“…”
“You stopped coming to lunch.”
“…”
“You take seventeen years to answer texts.”
“…”
Martin narrowed his eyes.
“See?”
You looked away.
Because he wasn’t wrong.
And somehow that made everything worse.
“Did I do something?”
The question was quiet.
Genuine.
Not accusing.
Just confused.
And suddenly you felt awful.
“No.”
“Then what is it?”
You swallowed.
You couldn’t exactly say:
“Because I like you and my best friend likes you and now my brain is melting.”
So you chose the second-worst option.
“Nothing.”
Martin stared at you.
Then sighed.
“You’re a terrible liar.”
He grabbed his bag.
“Whenever you decide to tell me what’s actually wrong, let me know.”
And for the first time since all of this started…
He looked hurt.
The second he walked away, your stomach dropped.
Because distancing yourself from Martin was supposed to make things easier.
Instead, you were losing one of your favorite people.
And somehow that hurt a lot more than having a crush on him ever did.
