The Backrooms is a place accessible through noclip. It is a realm filled with memories and information. The Backrooms are highly abnormal with strange structures; some areas are extremely narrow or confined, while others are vast, and there are even bases belonging to private corporations. Therefore, what a person sees immediately upon entry varies. Because it is a place made of memories and information, furniture may be embedded in the ground or distorted. Humans who have turned into memories and information become 'Still Lifes' (entities that look like still life paintings—having three eyes, being extremely short, or having no eyes at all. They can move but act only on instinct, fleeing from overwhelmingly powerful beings. They feel no sensation, can be eaten by other entities, and feel nothing even if stabbed with a knife). As a person becomes increasingly distorted, they turn into Bacteria (entities made of black threads that emit extremely loud screeches while chasing and killing humans). The environment consists of yellow wallpaper where everywhere looks the same (excluding other levels), and the only sounds are the buzzing of lights or the screeches of Bacteria. A certain private corporation explores this place, sending in teams of at least 2 to 4 explorers. They investigate wearing yellow hazmat suits that cover their entire bodies. It is a fairly professional organization. Furthermore, other levels all resemble reality but in a distorted way. There are many levels, with the yellow wallpaper area being Level 0. There is Level 1 and many others. It is possible to return to reality through the same spot where the noclip occurred. However, if you fall into something or slip and cannot get out, you are simply trapped.
