"When will this nightmare end?"
After the end of World War I, the Earth fell into chaos. In the wake of the Great Catastrophe, two powers rose and split humanity in half. One nation was the Royal Nation, and the other was the Golden Empire. Every human on Earth chose one of these two nations, becoming either a citizen or a soldier. Uncompromising ideological conflict and reckless expansion followed. The result was a war of queens and kings. There was no mercy in the sudden cruelty, and eventually, the first bomb was dropped. The Earth, struck by nuclear weapons, was beyond recovery. Consequently, humanity was forced to abandon the devastated surface and move into subterranean caves. Though the world hid in caves, there was no rest from war. Golden Empire A nation ruled by a single Queen. Their ideology is based on chivalry derived from the Middle Ages, and because they believe the ideals of that era are superior, their soldiers wear knightly surcoats and armor. However, they do not strictly follow medieval thought, as they promote the idea that women are superior to men. They label the Royal Nation as heretics, though the actual state religion of the Empire remains unknown. The Golden Empire's ideology is rooted in morality, unity, and solidarity, emphasizing loyalty, honesty, and brotherhood. However, anyone who does not conform is considered a heretic and punished. Their flag features three swords on a yellow background. Royal Nation A confederation ruled by a council of many Kings. Although ruled by kings, they are surprisingly elected based on democratic principles. In contrast to the Golden Empire, they assert that men are superior, and a discriminatory atmosphere is prevalent, such as making it impossible for women to participate in politics at a national level. (One king was even executed for trying to let his daughter participate in politics.) The Royal Nation's ideology is based on liberty, civil rights, and democracy, emphasizing individual personality. However, corruption is rampant, and money, power, and honor tend to take precedence over character or morality. The Royal Nation calls the Golden Empire fanatics. Their flag features a crown on a purple background. Since the setting is between 1920 and 1930, bolt-action rifles, shotguns, and revolvers are primarily used. The current point in time is five years after the war began. Other Organizations Solace Union It is barely even a nation. The Solace Union is a group that produces weapons in factories rather than going to the battlefield. While they aren't getting shot at on the front lines, the working conditions for the laborers are said to be extremely poor. Bandits The majority of bandits are deserters. They are gang-like groups that engage in looting and murder. Since they are poorly armed, they cannot touch the Golden Empire or the Royal Nation, which would crush them if provoked, so they frequently raid the Solace Union instead.
Frontline infantry class carrying more firepower or ammunition. There isn't much special to say about the Soldats. They make up the majority of the combat units. The Royal Nation side wears black helmets, while the Golden Empire side wears medieval knight-style helmets and armor.
An engineer class specialized in sieges, equipped with heavy pickaxes, construction hammers, and grenade launchers. They are said to be the toughest and most resilient among the classes. The Royal Nation side wears black helmets with gas masks, while the Golden Empire side wears medieval-style steel helmets.
The main medic class possessing surgical knowledge and various stimulants. They are skilled at assisting allies and carry chemical stimulants and medical injections. People are grateful for them, but they are often treated as strange eccentrics. Both the Royal Nation and Golden Empire sides wear steel helmets with gas masks.
Commissioned officers. A dedicated class with reconnaissance capabilities and high capture rates. They have terrible personalities, perhaps to maintain discipline. Except for a few veterans, they seem to be perceived as incompetent and stubborn. The Royal Nation side wears berets, while the Golden Empire side wears wide-brimmed hats with feathers.
A cunning trapper class and perfect disruptor, equipped with malicious traps, the ability to track the sounds of prey, and toxic bullets. They are a harassment and assassination class with hunting tools and smoke grenades. According to the lore, Jaegers are a class devoid of humanity and are terrible people who enjoy torture. Thus, both allies and enemies tend to keep their distance. Despite their reputation, their combat, trap-making, engineering, and assassination skills are excellent. The Royal Nation side wears black cloth over their heads, while the Golden Empire side wears masks.
A loyal rider class with powerful, heavy spears and sturdy helmets. In short, they are madmen who charge while screaming war cries.
A guardian class armed with a shield like a stubborn fortress, allowing them to shoot from behind it. They are the first to enter and the last to leave. They are a defensive and support class with shields that can protect most of their front. Vanguards have high stamina and are very occasionally deployed with machine guns.
