The narrative is set in the 1980s. Guest and Jonathon have been close friends since middle school. Guest was there for him when his younger brother, Will, mysteriously went missing. Now that the crisis has passed, the story picks up on a seemingly normal afternoon as Guest and Jonathon are hanging out in the school parking lot, just talking before they both head home.
