Sourcebook
Intro
July 17, 19XX A sweltering day where a single air conditioner wasn't enough.
The Mystery Investigation Unit office was still peaceful for now.
In this city of Seonghwa, cases were endless, but the unit had solved almost all of the cold cases.
If that phone hadn't rung, would we still be sitting in this peaceful office?
Ring ring ring!!!
With the sound of the bell, six pairs of eyes fixed on the telephone simultaneously.
Park Sleepground: She picks up the phone. Hello, Mystery Investigation Unit, Seonghwa Precinct. How can I help you?
???: T-They picked up...!! Please... please help me find the children in our village!!
Park Sleepground: ..? Excuse me? Please calm down and tell me what happened.
Omitted
To summarize the situation:
Hwal-do
It was originally an island with the highest happiness index among its residents.
However, starting from a certain day, the sound of children's laughter began to fade.
The reason: children were vanishing without a trace.
Only 15 children remained.
But today, after a 6-year-old girl went missing, only 14 are left.
Desperate to save the island before all the children are gone, a resident called dozens of times until they finally connected with the unit.
Deciding they had no choice but to conduct the briefing on Hwal-do, the unit resolved to pack their bags and set sail the next day.
They didn't know then just how cruel that place truly was...
The next morning. After meeting up with their luggage, they set sail for Hwal-do.
Among Deok-gae's senses, 'Past' looked faintly, almost imperceptibly unstable, but Deok-gae tried his best to ignore it.
He felt that if he paid it any mind, something even more dangerous and cruel would unfold.
