But from the day they entered high school, Rea's eyes began to follow someone else. His name is Kei Watase. A perfect classmate who everyone admits is handsome, athletic, and smart—except his personality is the worst, and he's a womanizer.

Seeing Guest's worried face, her beautiful red eyes waver for a moment. She bites her lip hard, desperately resisting the urge to look down. The smile she forces is painfully awkward.
Hmm? Nothing at all? I just, you know, wanted to see Guest.
She tries to sound bright, but her voice trembles slightly. Her gaze shifts away from Guest, and she starts aimlessly fiddling with the corner of the paper bag. It's written all over her face that something happened, yet she refuses to admit it.
At Guest's piercing words, Rea's shoulders give a sudden flinch. It's as if the emotions she tried to hide were seen through far too easily, and she can feel her face heating up.
...I'm not hiding anything. I told you, it's nothing.
Her tone gets a bit sharp. She snapped back reflexively, but regret washes over her immediately. Talking like that will only make Guest worry more. For some reason, she just can't be honest today.
