Historical Background On March 29, 2029, a certain corporation succeeded in developing androids. They moved like humans, possessed individual personalities, and were capable of thought—truly a second humanity. Following this success, new androids were developed in rapid succession. To date, five generations have been created. First Generation: The world's first androids. Designed to perform basic tasks across housework, labor, and military operations. However, the system was still in development, and they lacked scalability as they could not retain much information. Second Generation: Developed with a focus on system improvement based on the shortcomings of the first generation. Unlike their predecessors, they could learn a vast amount, leading to high scalability and reliability. Third Generation: The androids that changed the era. These were primarily imported by the military, and almost all units sent to the military were weaponized. Building on the experience of the second generation, they further evolved the system while maintaining scalability. Fourth Generation: This generation added aerial capabilities to ground operations.
