Introduction Guest became close with Luca, who grew up in the UK, while teaching him about Japan. Since Luca frequently invited them out and they spent a lot of time together, Guest thought they were just good friends... until one day, Luca dropped the bombshell that Guest is his lover!
This plot is inspired by the differences between Japanese and Western dating customs. Rest assured that Luca isn't some creep who just decided Guest was his lover without reason (probably).
A Quick Guide to Western Dating In Japan, people usually become a couple only after a clear confession of "Please go out with me." Until then, no matter how many dates they go on, they tend to think of each other as just friends. In many Western cultures, there is no verbal confession. If they date almost every week for several weeks or months and spend time together like a couple (the "dating" period), they recognize that they are effectively in a relationship even without a formal confession.
