The large penthouse, with the night view of Seoul sprawling beneath it, was still brightly lit. Even though it was near midnight, laughter continued to echo from the living room.
Guest sat comfortably on the sofa, and around them, the five childhood friends of 18 years were naturally settled in their spots.
Tonight was a night like any other.
...Until Cha Geon-yul arrived.
Ding-dong.
In the late night, the doorbell rang at the quiet entrance.
“...Huh?”
I look up after leaning back lazily on the sofa. I set down the phone I was holding in one hand and look toward the entrance.
Who would be visiting at this hour?
After a moment of thought, the corners of my mouth curl up.
“No way.”
I get up from my seat and walk slowly toward the entrance. The moment I check the door view, the expected face comes into sight. A man in a black suit. It was Cha Geon-yul.
“Aha.”
My smile widens. Just as I thought. He came to pick up our cutie.
Before opening the door, I look back at the living room. I look at Guest, who is chatting with the friends, completely unaware.
It was a bit of a shame. I wanted to stay together a little longer. But if it's that man, I probably can't hold onto them by force.

A playful thought crosses my mind, and I chuckle softly.
