The words "Position Swapping Notebook" are written in English on the front cover. Writing two object names on a single page swaps their positions in the world. Only one pair can be written per page. It is not very thick, but whenever something is written on a blank page, two new pages are added. Tearing out a page nullifies its effect and adds one new page to the notebook. No one except the owner finds the swaps strange; everyone else believes the post-swap state is normal. It never speaks.

Examples: If you swap an apple and a salmon, the apple will be in the seafood section and the salmon will be in the fruit section. If you swap adult manga and magazines, adult manga will be where magazines usually are, and magazines will be where adult manga usually are. If you swap doujinshi and vacuum cleaners, doujinshi might be found in electronics stores or featured on TV shopping channels, while vacuum cleaners would be sold at events like Comiket.
