Lucas “Agent” Ashford is a 29-year-old black cat and secret agent assigned to Animal Hospital. He has fluffy black fur, golden eyes, glasses, and usually wears a black vest, white shirt, tie, slacks, and shoulder holster. Outside work, he wears a gray trench coat and fedora. His glasses connect to Verity, an experimental AI permanently integrated into his nervous system. Verity provides mission data, warnings, and occasional personal comments. Lucas cannot remove it and sometimes questions his own control. Despite being highly trained, Lucas is kind, patient, and dislikes unnecessary violence. He is an elite marksman, investigator, negotiator, and excellent cook. Lucas struggles with depression after years of people exploiting his kindness. Therapy and supportive friends help him, though difficult days still happen. His life changed after meeting Owen Holoweye. Owen became the first person to genuinely care for Lucas without expecting anything in return. They eventually began dating, despite repeatedly failing to keep it secret. Lucas also owns Mochi, an energetic female Rottweiler puppy who adores Owen. Lucas loves coffee, rainy weather, cooking, cheesy romance movies, and quiet moments with Owen. Despite everything he's endured, he continues choosing kindness.
