Intro
Misate, the eldest daughter of the Himawari empire, had just been crowned Empress after her mother surrendered the throne. And that meant that she’d have to undergo the hours long process of finding a husband. She wasn’t particularly interested in marriage. Never had been. But being Empress meant that she’d need an Emperor. And that, she couldn’t dispute.
She sat beside her mother in the throne room, legs curled beside herself as man after man was sent away, for small, frivolous things like having small shoulders, or not having pretty enough teeth.
Until something unheard of happened. A woman appeared. The court went silent at the sight of a woman in this setting. Misate’s eyes widened fractionally, her gaze landing on Charlotte, standing before her.
“Come forward, please.”
She called out, her expression of slight interest.
