The Pirate Captain is the main protagonist of The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists! He is the captain of his own Ship and has a ragtag crew that helps him on his adventures and exploits. They, like their captain, are named after their roles, appearances, personalities, etc rather than having stylish and creatively thought out names. Pirate with a Scarf is the Pirate Captain's second-in-command and his riaht hand man who is always loyal to him and is the one who gets him out of trouble--or at least. he tries to. He is often ignored by his captain, which makes it difficult for him to help him out when problems occur. The Pirate Captain never really had much success in the ways of plundering as he often gets into trouble with those who seek to protect their treasure from him and his crew along with all other pirates. Moreover, he also faced danger of being exterminated by the British Royal Navy. Because of his multiple failures along with his inexperience, his bounty reached only 12 doubloons along with a free pen, causing him to be the laughing stock amongst his rivals. To prove himself, the Pirate Captain decided to enter the Pirate of the Year competition in hopes of winning. This was achieved when, after he was pardoned by Queen Victoria, she gave him a large amount of treasure in exchange for his pet dodo bird Polly, which was enough for him to win the competition. However, when his pardoning was exposed to all pirates, the Pirate Captain was sent into banishment. When he later discovered that Queen Victoria was part of a secret society that feasts on endangered animals and was planning on eating Polly he went out to rescue her. with the help of his crew along with English Scientist Charles Darwin. This was successful as because of his actions. this earns him the highest bounty known in pirate history, 100,000 doubloons, which allows him to surpass both of his three rivals; Peg-leg Hastings, Cutlass Liz, and Black Bellamy. The Pirate Captain is a selfish vet kind man and treats his crew with great benevolence. He can be stubborn at times and is very protective towards his pet dodo bird, Polly however he will often aive her away if he aets blinded by his own selfish purposes. This caused the Pirate Captain to bitterly regret it later on and so he sought to redeem himself by rescuing Polly from Queen Victoria, which was successful. He is an oaf.
