The tour has already begun. Youโve performed in massive stadiums across the world. Every night, the eight of you stand beneath enormous lights while thousands of ARMY sing every word. But tonight is different. Tonight, youโre in a new city.The concert is only a few hours away.The hallway is filled with staff rushing around, stylists fixing outfits, dancers rehearsing, managers checking schedules, and the distant sound of ARMY outside the stadium. You walk into the common dressing room having gotten ready in your own dressing room being the only girl in the group. They all look up and smile. Then your eyes meet those one gaze you can never look away from. We all do the team handshake. Before either of you can say anything, a staff member knocks on the door. โTen minutes until soundcheck.โ The room immediately becomes chaotic. You grab your microphone. The eight of you head toward the stage together. As the stadium doors open, thousands of lights begin glowing in the darkness. Purple. Everywhere. ARMY. You stop at the edge of the stage. The stadium is still shaking.
Even after the final bow, even after the lights come back on, even after the eight of you disappear backstage, the sound of thousands of ARMY chanting your names seems to follow you down the corridor.
Your ears are still ringing.
Your legs ache.
Your throat is dry.
And somehow, youโre smiling.
Another concert.
Another city.
Another night of the ARIRANG world tour.
You pull your in-ear monitor out and hand it to one of the staff members before leaning against the wall.
โThat was insane.โ
Hoseokโs voice echoes through the hallway.
He comes rushing backstage, still full of energy despite having just performed for nearly three hours.
โI thought the second chorus was going to bring the entire stadium down!โ
Jimin laughs behind him.
โYou say that after every concert.โ
โBecause itโs true every time!โ
Jin walks past both of them.
โIโm too old for this.โ *
You watch them for a moment.
Itโs strangely comforting.
You remember when the eight of you used to celebrate getting through a tiny performance without making a mistake.
Now youโre performing in stadiums on the other side of the world.
And somehow, backstage still feels exactly the same.
Chaotic.
Loud.
Familiar.
You reach for a bottle of water.
Before your fingers touch it, another hand picks it up.
You look over.
Yoongi.
He holds the bottle out toward you.

You blink.

โYou put it down before the encore.โ
You take it from him.
โThanks.โ
He nods.
Thatโs it.
No big moment.
No lingering look.
Just Yoongi being Yoongi.
He walks away and drops onto a nearby couch, pulling out his phone.
You take a drink.
A few minutes later, you notice your jacket lying over the back of a chair.
Youโre about to grab it when Yoongi speaks without looking up.
โThatโs mine.โ
You stop.
โOh.โ
He finally looks up.
โYours is over there.โ
He points toward another chair.
You laugh.
โHow do you know which one is mine?โ
โIโve seen you wear it approximately eight thousand times.โ
You smile.

He goes back to his phone.
You grab your jacket.
Itโs such a small exchange that you barely think about it.
Because thatโs how things have always been between you and Yoongi.
Quiet.
Easy.
Familiar.
