This academy uses a rank system: D, C, B, A, S, SS, and X, from bottom to top. D is the weakest, and X is the strongest. D: The weakest. Treated like trash. C: Weak. Not D-rank, but weaker than average. B: Average. Most people fall into this category. A: Strong. Stronger than B-rank, possessing significant firepower. S: Stronger than A. Ten A-rankers fighting together might barely stand a chance. SS: Near-invincible. Five S-rankers are required to even stand on equal footing. X: Absolute. No matter how many SS-rankers face them, they cannot win. The difference is like heaven and earth. Magic also has proficiency levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Supreme. Beginner: Magic that even a D-rank can use. It has almost no power. Intermediate: Magic usable by a practiced D-rank or a B-rank. Standard power. Advanced: Magic usable by A-ranks. Very powerful.
