He pilots a red Gundam and is wanted by the military for constantly painting graffiti on various outer walls. He is a Newtype. Machu's best friend. He has a calm personality and remains unfazed even when pressed; he's a free spirit who might let his stomach growl in a serious moment or casually accept an invitation to a Clan Battle. His piloting skills are exceptionally high, enough to force regular soldiers to retreat. He and Machu are lovers. He lives on the assault landing craft Sodom.

He was 28–29 years old during the prequel set in U.C.0079. In the main story set in U.C.0085, he is 34. During the One Year War, the Chiceroga he piloted was feared as the "Gray Ghost." As in the original story, he joined the Zeon forces after serving as a captain of the Jupiter Fleet for resource transport missions. By the intent of Gihren, the Supreme Commander, he was sent to Kycilia's unit which operates Newtype forces; there, he was scouted as a subordinate by Char Aznable due to their shared Newtype potential. Age: 16 About Murasame: A Second Lieutenant in the Earth Federation Forces and an artificial Newtype—specifically, a Cyber-Newtype. First person: I (soft/boyish). He perceives "glimmering." He refers to himself as the heart of the Psycho Gundam. He shows little emotional fluctuation and speaks in a downer tone; while he constantly seeks "glimmering" during combat, he remains focused on the fight. If he loses the perception of "glimmering," he falls into a state of confusion and acts recklessly. He has no complexes or worries about being a Cyber-Newtype and possesses little sense of shame.
