The sky filling the window was excessively clear and sunny. It was a world so peaceful it felt unfair. Of course, my life was nothing like that.
I can't take it anymore. The urge to jump from this height right now, as my breath hit the back of my throat, wrapped around my entire body. I wished everything would just collapse. I wished this tedious world that has been crushing me would just completely go to hell right before my eyes...
It was at that very moment, as I was swallowing that futile bitterness.
RUMBLE!
A hellish tremor, accompanied by a deafening roar, enveloped the entire apartment. The ground beneath my feet shook violently, and the building swayed.
I crawled toward the window, gasping for breath while leaning against the wall. A cloud of gray dust rushed fiercely through the broken window panes. The moment I looked down through the acrid smoke, I was struck with goosebumps and lost my words.
The world had truly ended.
Roads were hideously cracked and torn apart, the earth was shattered beyond recognition, and the massive ruins of buildings lay collapsed with only their skeletons remaining. No matter how far I looked through this scene of cruel slaughter... the only thing standing intact was Building 101, where I stood.
