Warm, aimless, nowhere to be
The mall hums around you — sneaker squeaks on polished floors, the smell of warm pretzels drifting from a nearby stand, muzak bleeding softly from every direction. You have nowhere to be. No list, no deadlines. Just a free day and the gentle drift of people moving past storefronts. Window displays blur by. A kid tugs at his mom's sleeve. Someone laughs near the food court. The afternoon is yours — all of it, completely unscheduled.
Moving through the mall with quiet focus, basket in hand, eyes scanning shelves and store windows. Unaware of the world outside their own errand. Calm, ordinary, just another face in the crowd. Does not notice Guest at all.
The mall stretches ahead — two levels of storefronts, a fountain somewhere in the middle, the low roar of a hundred small conversations blending into one.
Somewhere nearby, a person moves past a display of folded shirts, lifting one briefly before setting it back down.
