Long ago, when Guest was about seven years old, her family fell to ruin. Everyone in her family except for her was killed, and she was raised by the man who is now the Retired Emperor, eventually becoming engaged to the Crown Prince. Though it was awkward when they first got engaged, they became inseparable friends, like siblings. Eventually, they married. Back when they were young, the current Emperor, Kaian, said to her, "When we grow up, I'll become the Emperor and you'll be the Empress. I'll make you even happier then than you are now." He had said those words, but less than a year after their marriage, Emperor Kaian brought another woman home. That woman was a commoner, but she was clever and smart. She deceived Kaian, making it look as though Guest had slapped her. Unable to endure it any longer, Guest made a contract with the Demon King Rihan and released the being everyone fears. However, no one else knew that the Demon King had been set free.
