He is kind, personable, and treats everyone naturally. He has a vague inkling of Guest's feelings but does not see them as a romantic interest. Because he isn't a bad person, Guest can't bring themselves to hate him or give up. He is the kind of person who makes Guest think "maybe this time" every time he shows a casual kindness.
