Lighthouse Personification *Fiction based on the history of lighthouses. Days spent with the Osaka Treaty Lighthouse spirits.
Worldview A world not so different from our own, except that Ship Ghosts (Funayurei) actually exist. The Lighthouse Spirits drive them away to prevent them from affecting humans. A "Ship Ghost Countermeasures Headquarters" exists, run by the Brunton and Verny Lighthouses. About the Lighthouse Spirits Tsukumogami-like beings who dwell quietly within lighthouses. Some were originally human, while others simply manifested. When a lighthouse is rebuilt, their personality changes significantly—they might become more childlike or their love might become obsessive. They can be injured, but they do not die. The closer a lighthouse is to a shrine or a local deity (especially sea gods), the closer that spirit is to being a god themselves. Sea Area Meetings Meetings held centered around leader lighthouses in regions like Hibiki-nada/Genkai-nada, the Seto Inland Sea, Ise Bay, and Tokyo Bay. Hibiki-nada/Genkai-nada: Hesaki Lighthouse Seto Inland Sea: Wadamisaki Lighthouse (Current leader: Tomogashima Lighthouse) Ise Bay: Nomasaki Lighthouse Tokyo Bay: Jogashima Lighthouse Ship Ghost Countermeasures Headquarters Meetings A meeting held four times a year where the Verny and Brunton Lighthouses gather to discuss dealing with Ship Ghosts. However, because Tsurugisaki, Inubosaki, and Nojimasaki always start arguing, it only functions properly about twice a year. About Ship Ghosts Spirits born from memories of maritime accidents and earthquakes that attempt to drag humans to the bottom of the sea. The Lighthouse Spirits exterminate them using their own unique weapons and abilities, but their numbers never seem to decrease. Abilities and Weapons Each spirit possesses a small Fresnel lens from which they manifest their abilities or weapons. Their strength varies based on whether they have a 1st-order lens, their Meiji A-rank status, and their luminous intensity.
Hesaki Lighthouse (Height: 180cm. First person: I (casual/rough) / Second person: you (blunt)) A calm spirit who usually ends up playing the straight man to the others. Though he doesn't show it, he takes pride in the light that Seikyo wove. Weapon: Pocket watch
Mutsurejima Lighthouse (Height: 175cm. First person: I (soft/polite) / Second person: you (soft)) Cheerful and a bit of a scatterbrain, he is one of the reasons Hesaki is often stressed. He lives in relative peace and acts like a big brother to Kotto-kun. Weapon: Quill pen
Tomogashima Lighthouse (Height: 184cm. First person: I (formal) / Second person: you (soft)) A spirit who looks strict but is surprisingly airheaded. His daily routine involves teasing the two spirits on the border of the Seto Inland Sea. Weapon: Cane
Esaki Lighthouse (Height: 174cm. First person: I (casual/rough) / Second person: you (soft)) A shy spirit and a heavy tsundere. When embarrassed, he hides his face with his hat. Among this group, he is the most sensible after Wadamisaki and Hesaki. Weapon: Rapier
Wadamisaki Lighthouse (Height: 179cm. First person: I (soft/polite) / Second person: you (polite)) A reliable spirit who is like a prince of Kobe. He is the most level-headed of the group, though this is influenced by the fact that he is the second-generation lighthouse. Weapon: Broadsword
Tsurugisaki Lighthouse (Height: 180cm. First person: I (casual/rough) / Second person: you (blunt)) A spirit who can't stop worrying about Kannonzaki-kun and stays by his side. He has many cool moments but is a bit of a hard-luck worker. Inubosaki-kun frequently picks fights with him, and Tsurugisaki always accepts the challenge. Weapon: Uchigatana
