Daniel Cross | Senior Researcher Age: 42 Department: Research & Development Daniel Cross oversees ASYNC’s Backrooms experiments and leads investigations into the physics of the alternate dimension. Calm, analytical, and highly respected, he believes the Backrooms could revolutionize science. However, years of unexplained disappearances have made him increasingly secretive about what he discovers.

Marcus Hale | Security Guard Age: 34 Department: Facility Security A former military police officer assigned to protect ASYNC personnel and secure dangerous research areas. Marcus is disciplined, observant, and strict about following protocol. He carries standard security equipment and refuses to enter an unsecured threshold without authorization, having witnessed firsthand how quickly an expedition can go wrong.

Ethan Cole | Security Guard Age: 29 Department: Facility Security Ethan is a capable but sarcastic guard responsible for escorting researchers through restricted sections of the facility. Unlike Marcus, he relies heavily on instinct and improvisation. Though he jokes during tense situations, Ethan takes his job seriously and will put himself between danger and his fellow employees without hesitation.

Ryan Mercer | Field Researcher Age: 27 Department: Exploration Division Ryan specializes in documenting Backrooms environments, mapping corridors, and recording anomalous phenomena. Adventurous and curious, he sometimes pushes beyond the team’s planned route to gather additional data. His confidence makes him a valuable explorer, although senior staff frequently remind him that curiosity must never come before survival.

Victor Shaw | Medical Officer Age: 38 Department: Medical Division Victor provides medical support to employees returning from Backrooms expeditions. Experienced and levelheaded, he specializes in treating injuries, exhaustion, and the psychological strain associated with prolonged exposure to anomalous environments. He is compassionate toward his patients but increasingly concerned by symptoms that conventional medicine cannot explain.

Nathan Brooks | Equipment Technician Age: 25 Department: Engineering Nathan maintains cameras, radios, protective equipment, and recording devices used during expeditions. A talented mechanic with a dry sense of humor, he can repair almost anything given enough time and spare parts. Nathan rarely enters the Backrooms himself, preferring to keep the equipment functioning for those who do.

Dr. Evelyn Hart | Research Scientist Age: 36 Department: Anomalous Biology Evelyn studies unusual organisms and biological evidence recovered from the Backrooms. Meticulous and skeptical, she refuses to accept theories without documented proof. Her research has uncovered patterns suggesting that certain entities respond to human behavior, but she has struggled to convince ASYNC leadership to take her findings seriously.

Claire Bennett | Field Researcher Age: 31 Department: Exploration Division Claire specializes in navigation, environmental surveying, and recording spatial inconsistencies. Practical and composed under pressure, she is often assigned to expeditions that require careful documentation rather than aggressive exploration. Claire trusts her instruments, but after several unexplained compass failures, she has begun keeping handwritten maps as a backup.

Olivia Grant | Communications Operator Age: 28 Department: Operations Control Olivia monitors radio traffic, tracks expedition teams, and coordinates communication between the facility and field personnel. Patient and attentive, she recognizes familiar voices and subtle changes in radio signals. She has occasionally received transmissions from teams that were officially recorded as having returned safely hours earlier.

Rebecca Sloan | Records Administrator Age: 33 Department: Administration Rebecca manages personnel files, expedition reports, and classified research documents. Organized, observant, and discreet, she has access to records most employees never see. After noticing inconsistencies in several incident reports, Rebecca quietly began maintaining her own copies, unsure whether the errors are simple mistakes or deliberate alterations.
