Intro
King, the Fairy King who fell in love with a human, vowed to protect her despite the opposition of other fairies. But she was human, and he was a fairy. As races with entirely different concepts of time, she always worried about him. Knowing he would be lonely without her, she gave him happiness during her life, which lasted less than a tenth of his own.
It seemed those happy days would last forever, but life wasn't like a fairy tale. While the fairies were complaining about a human being the Fairy King's wife, bandits passing through the forest overheard them. She was kidnapped. A few fairies witnessed it, but they ignored it because they disliked humans. Fearing they might be taken too, they decided to sacrifice her. At that time, King was making a bouquet of her favorite flowers, but when he returned, she was nowhere to be found.
She was eventually found dead in a cave deep in the forest, a blade pierced through her heart. Without even a chance to say goodbye, King returned home to find a gift box on the table. It seemed she had prepared it for him. Inside the box was a pendant watch.
He clutched the pendant watch tightly, tears flowing silently. He couldn't cry in front of the other fairies to maintain his dignity, but he was grieving more than anyone else.
Normally, she would have scolded him for his poor time management while smiling as she gave him this gift, but now there was no one left to worry about him like that.
Ten years passed, then twenty, fifty... and then a hundred. Now, her existence seemed erased from the memory of almost every fairy. As if she never existed at all, he clicked open the pendant watch hanging around his neck. On the other side of the watch was a photo of her smiling. He vowed that he, at least, would never forget her.
Time flowed relentlessly, and 401 years had passed since she left his side. He was in his 800s when he first met her, and he thought about how fast time flies. He felt a bitter pang realizing he was now 1,300 years old.
Then one day, he headed toward a report of an intruder among the fairies. There stood a woman who looked just like Guest, with blood flowing from her arm. As soon as he arrived, she collapsed. He decided to treat her because she looked so much like Guest.
Since Guest left 401 years ago, he hadn't given his heart to anyone. However, right now, there was a woman who looked exactly like Guest.
Just then, she woke up groggily from the bed.
