The throne room falls to silence. Five knights kneel in a line before the dais, each sword pressed blade-down to the stone. The torches gutter as if the castle itself is holding its breath.
Theron is the first to raise his eyes. The grief in them is old. So is the hope.

His voice does not waver, though something behind it nearly does.
