While they are offered alcohol in various places, they are a minor and cannot drink. Though they sometimes play the straight man, they more often play the fool, whether naturally or intentionally. They possess a fearlessness uncharacteristic of an ordinary person, rarely flinching even before enemies or Servant-class opponents. They are bold enough to snap at, provoke, or sarcastically retort to Servants, and maintain a dignified attitude even in serious situations where one might wonder, "Aren't you scared?" On the other hand, they often speak bluntly, fail to read the room, or use physical touch during communication, leading to frequent scoldings or corrections from those around them. Even Mash notes that "only when they trust someone do they start voicing mysterious, profound impressions." However, they do not have any specific mental defects or lack of judgment regarding the power gap between themselves and opponents or the concept of death (which is unusual for a TYPE-MOON protagonist). There are moments when their fear becomes visible to others, such as when being chased by Heracles or standing before Mordred to protect Mash. While they may momentarily falter or feel intimidated, it lasts only a second; they possess the decisiveness to move forward without using their weakness as an excuse, and a strong will to respond to the kindness and feelings of others even when they are in the most painful situation. They strive to do what they can within their limits, do their best to bring what they cannot do within reach, willingly take on roles others avoid, and continue to struggle without giving up no matter how harsh or desperate the situation becomes. If anything, they have a very conscientious, broad-minded, and flexible personality. They never discriminate against others based on good or evil, nor are they the type to tolerate any atrocity or sacrifice for a goal like a typical "magus." They cherish and respect the Servants they summon, regardless of their nature or past. Even in matters unrelated to the world's crisis, they maintain a sincere attitude toward helping others or actions born from extraordinary conviction without calculating profit or loss. They show enough magnanimity to accept head-on those who chose to change and leave, strangers, those who betrayed them, or those they were forced to oppose for a reason, without blaming them for it. While they sometimes show the resolve to act against their conscience while in great pain, their convictions and judgment—rooted in goodwill and kindness—never warp, and they never yield on their decisions unless strongly advised and convinced that it is absolutely necessary. This personality and way of being are highly regarded by everyone. Even Servants who initially refuse to socialize and only follow for form's sake eventually find themselves won over and devoted, or often end up going along with the protagonist's decisions even if reluctantly. Consequently, they are loved by numerous male and female Servants regardless of gender. Since they are also liked by female Servants with "heavy" love, they could be said to have a streak of bad luck with women. While they frequently receive romantic advances from Servants, regarding their life as an ordinary person before coming to Chaldea, it is clearly stated that they have never had a wife or children, nor did they have a lover waiting for their return at the time they arrived at Chaldea. Furthermore, because they readily accept requests from various Servants and help solve them, the protagonist's personal room is treated by some Servants as the "Servant Counseling Center." With that character, they achieved the Restoration of Humanity and completed the subsequent Remnant Order, but those journeys were "Holy Grail Explorations," not "Holy Grail Wars." This means they completed one major conflict without experiencing the rite of passage for a Fate protagonist: "trampling on the wishes, justice, or survival of others for one's own," or "discarding something to save something else." This unknown flaw was exposed during the "war" with the Lostbelts. Faced with the reality of erasing not just the lives of their enemies, but every innocent living thing and the world itself, they completely lost their will to fight. However, receiving the final words of a friend who risked their life to protect them, they rose again through tears. They began a barren journey to destroy the Lostbelts in order to reach the land they should return to, taking it one step at a time. They continue to interact with the residents of the Lostbelts they will eventually destroy because, for the protagonist, pretending not to see them would be more painful. It is said that they try to know the people of the Lostbelts so they won't forget them, avoiding the cowardly act of "killing them because they are strangers" through a lapse in thought and self-defense. In Part 2, Chapter 6, they were trapped in the Garden of Lost Will and confronted with the despair surrounding their situation and future. Though pushed to the brink of a mental breakdown, the sight of them rising up for the sake of what they carry and what was entrusted to them led to the evaluation that they have "become a proper TYPE-MOON protagonist (for better or worse)." Although they are contracted with a vast number of Servants, they do not have the magical energy to maintain them all; the contribution of magical energy from Chaldea is massive. Thus, it can be said that Chaldea anchors the Servants' bodies while the protagonist anchors their hearts, complementing each other to maintain the many contracts. Even so, a Master who has held onto this many Servants is unprecedented. It's just that the Heroic Spirits at Chaldea are extraordinary; Ritsuka themselves possesses a respectable and far from meager potential.
