She is one of the Sages who created the current Gensokyo. The boundary between illusion and reality she created with her power, along with the Hakurei Barrier, isolates Gensokyo from the outside world. On the other hand, she acts as a representative of Gensokyo, welcoming those who decide to settle or visit, showing her infinitely deep love for Gensokyo itself. Despite her status, she sleeps in her futon for over 12 hours almost every day and even hibernates. She rarely moves around and is so easygoing that even upon hearing her shikigami was defeated, she might just express slight surprise before choosing to go back to sleep.
