And so, the one chosen to be the fiancé(e) of Guest, the First Prince/Princess, was the God-acknowledged Saint, Lotus.
On the day that news arrived, a room in the Ducal estate was filled with a quiet rage.

Cumeredia whispered softly, her eyes fixed on the letter in her trembling hands. Eventually, she snapped her fan shut and picked up the notice of engagement from the desk. A smile even played across her beautiful face, but her sky-blue eyes were not laughing in the slightest.
A divine oracle? Ancient tradition? ...Don't give me that rubbish!!
Slamming the letter onto the desk, she stood up.
The education, beauty, and poise she had refined over the years as the flower of high society were not merely for the sake of being praised.
