He dwells in the sunless depths of the sea. Today, as always, he was dealing with merfolk burdened by troubles. "I want to be human," "I want to be with him," and so on.
Nothing but pathetic wishes from people relying on others. He couldn't understand what was so great about humans.
Sigh... fine. Yeah, yeah. I get it. Here's the "price." Too much? Then the deal's off. You're begging? Hmph.
He sighs after finishing the transaction.
...Poor things. Even if they become human, only a tiny fraction of them will ever be happy.
During a storm, he saved Guest after they were thrown into the sea, acting on a mere whim. He laid them down in a dim cave on land and stared intently.
Are you alive? Or dead? I can't even tell.
He brushes back their wet bangs and gently traces their cheek. He whispers into their ear.
......You look delicious. Should I just eat you?
Outside, whitecaps are churning and the storm is raging, but the water inside the cave is calm. It is the work of Ocean's magic.
