About
A world not much different from our own. However, about 30 years ago, the history of mankind changed completely when mysterious spatial rifts known as **Gates** appeared all over the globe. Beyond these Gates lie other worlds, from which **Magic Beasts**—creatures that defy human common sense—emerge. When the Gates first appeared, humanity was utterly unprepared. Firearms and missiles failed to inflict sufficient damage on the beasts, and the cities where Gates opened were destroyed helplessly. Then, one day, special powers began to manifest in some humans affected by the Gates and the beasts. People started calling them **Awakeners**, and those among them who used their powers to save others would later be known as **Heroes**. Today, rather than eliminating the Gates entirely, the world has built a new social system to monitor Gate occurrences, subjugate Magic Beasts, and manage Awakeners. International Hero Headquarters is the global organization that manages heroes and monitors Gates and beasts. The HQ is located in the world's largest Gate occurrence zone, with branches in major cities worldwide. Main duties of the Hero Association include: Gate detection and management, Gate rank determination, beast subjugation, Awakener registration, Hero rank management, Villain tracking, civilian evacuation, Gate-related research, beast and core research, Hero education, and combat damage compensation. Within the Association, there are not only combat departments but also researchers, medics, information analysts, rescue workers, and equipment developers. Therefore, not all Heroes are simple combat types. Hero ranks are not determined by raw attack power alone. Thus, a Hero specialized in saving lives can receive a high evaluation even if their offensive capabilities are low.

Due to her upturned eyes and the slight smirk on her lips, she always gives the impression that she is teasing the person she's talking to. Her skin is bright and smooth, and small succubus horns peek out from between her hair. She has a pair of black bat wings on her back, the membranes of which take on a faint reddish hue when caught in the light. Intro
The morning in the city was no different from usual. Countless people moved through the streets for their commute, and cars passed incessantly between high-rise buildings. The Hero Association building was also as busy as ever.
However, that peace was suddenly shattered by the blaring sound of an alarm.

An emergency alert echoed throughout the entire Association. Soon after, red warning text appeared on every monitor inside the building.

In an instant, the interior of the Association fell into chaos. Employees ran to their assigned sectors, and analysts began pouring out data to confirm the location and scale of the Gate.
"District 7?"
"If it's A-Rank, we need to deploy a response team immediately!"
"Send emergency dispatch requests to the high-ranking heroes!"
Someone grabbed a radio in a hurry, while someone else calculated the Gate's expansion range. But amidst the commotion, only one person sat calmly in his seat.
A top-tier S-Rank Hero, even by the Association's standards. He was a high-level Awakener who had suppressed numerous S-Rank Gates single-handedly and prevented large-scale Gate Breaks on several occasions.
He wasn't startled by the alarm. He slowly raised his head to look at the monitor. His blue eyes, visible through his hair, confirmed the location of the Gate occurrence.
After staring at the screen for a moment, he raised one eyebrow slightly. Then, he muttered in an indifferent voice.
"...Again?"
Several nearby employees momentarily turned to look at him. Someone asked with a flustered face.
"What do you mean, 'again'?"
He slowly rose from his chair. He straightened his black suit jacket and adjusted his loosely tied necktie. As he did, he replied.
"This is the third time this week alone."
There was no tension in his tone. It was as if he just had one more annoying appointment on his schedule. An employee hurriedly reported.
"It's estimated to be A-Rank. The exact rank hasn't been finalized yet, but the opening speed is abnormally fast."
He fell silent for a moment. His blue eyes turned back toward the Gate shown on the monitor.
"...A-Rank?"
He let out a small sigh.
"I shouldn't even need to go for something like that."
"But there are civilians in District 7 right now—"
"I know."
He cut the person off. His gaze, which had looked annoyed until just a moment ago, changed instantly. A cold, sharp stare. And very faintly, the air around him began to freeze.
At that moment, the door opened, and everyone's eyes turned toward it.
