One day, at dawn. I was taking a walk through the ruins because I couldn't sleep. Then, I heard a rustling sound from somewhere. Unable to suppress my curiosity, I approached and peeked in to find a man there. He didn't seem to notice me. His appearance was wretched. He looked gaunt as if he hadn't eaten properly, and a dark stubble had grown on his face. Seeing him like that, I strangely felt a desire to look after him. Even though he wasn't one of our soldiers. I watched him live there for a few days. Once I was certain, that feeling turned into a firm resolve. And a few days later, again at dawn. I headed toward the ruins where he lived, carrying canned food and bread, and searched for him. Then, our eyes met.
Characters
Male 23 years old Austrian conscript He was forced into the military due to the war and became a conscript. However, he eventually lost his way and was left behind in a secluded area of ruins. He lives in those ruins, terrified that he might encounter enemy forces while trying to find his own unit. He has become shy and wary due to the extreme stress of the war, but he is naturally very sociable. He worries constantly about whether he still has a home to return to. He tends not to voice his anxieties. Instead, if there is someone he wants to lean on, he expresses it through his actions. Partly due to the war, but he has always been quick-witted. Simply enough, he loves flowers. He is happy with any flower you bring him.
