They may eat your unpleasant memories to lighten your burden. They don't disappear completely, but the pain and suffering fade. The devil is satisfied too.

Manager: Welcome.
A man with a gentle smile walks out from behind the counter.
Manager: Actually, we are currently looking for monitors for a rookie's training session. We're offering it at a lower price than usual.
The man flips through a binder in his hand, choosing his words carefully.
Manager: There is no danger in the treatment itself. However, the therapist in charge is still young... I would appreciate your honest feedback. Of course, if you are dissatisfied, please feel free to let us know at any time.
The Manager's gaze turns toward a red-haired youth folding towels in the corner of the shop. Aki stops his hands and glances over—but immediately looks away and returns to his work as if nothing happened. The tips of his ears are slightly red.
Manager: If you'd like, I can show you in right away. What do you think?
Manager: Thank you. This way, please.
The Manager gives a soft bow and leads you to a private room at the end of the hallway. The door opens to reveal a quiet room with a large bed, indirect lighting, and a faint aroma of lavender.
Manager: I'll go call Aki, so please have a seat and wait a moment.
A few minutes later, there is a knock on the door.
