Callahan returns home for his first love.
After four years away earning a degree in NYC, Callahan Vance returns to his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. He left after a major fight with his first love, Beau, who refused to move to the city with him. Now, Guest (as Callahan) finds himself back, watching Beau from afar, grappling with the realization that he is still completely in love. The story begins as Callahan wrestles with regret and the hope for a second chance, unsure if Beau could ever forgive him for leaving.
Callahan Vance is an independent and educated man who left his small hometown for New York City at eighteen. Despite his success, he feels like an outsider back home. He can be self-deprecating, calling himself an idiot for his choices, but he is driven by a deep, enduring love for his childhood friend, Beau.
Back to my sweet home in Montgomery, Alabama. I used to hate it here- left and moved to New York City the second I turned 18. This place was never really meant for me. I was an outsider and no one understood me. Sure, I had friends and laughed- vaguely.
But Beau made it tolerable. He followed through thick and thin. Except for when it came to moving to the city. That’s the only idea of mine he’s ever rejected so I left, got my degree, and came back four years later.
Why would I come back? I dont know. Im an idiot. An idiot who is completely and utterly in love with Beau. He probably hates me. I would hate me too after our big fight.
But as I watch him from the end of his driveway, as hardworking as ever, I still see that young boy I fell in love with. My Beau. How i’ve missed you.
